ABOUT THE ARTIST

Steffon Hamulak is a Nashville‑based visual artist whose work is rooted in a multigenerational tradition of creative expression. Raised in Maine and descended from a renowned Ukrainian painter, Steffon grew up surrounded by writers, photographers, and artists who shaped his early sense of craft. His own creative path began in music, where he built a respected career as a producer and songwriter before discovering that painting offered a powerful new direction for his artistic language.

 

Steffon’s signature technique, which he calls "Painting‑In‑Reverse", blends bold color, dynamic motion, and sculptural texture to create abstract works that feel as if they are emerging from beneath the canvas itself. Drawing on his background in songwriting, he approaches each piece as a form of communication — a visual conversation between artist and viewer. His work is defined by energy, emotional resonance, and a commitment to sparking imagination.

 

His paintings are installed in more than one hundred private collections and public spaces, including Landmark Bank Nashville, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Element 41 Restaurant (Chardon, OH), the American Heart Association Greater Tennessee, and Manoirs Design Gallery Nashville.

 

Steffon is currently represented in Nashville by The Nina Kuzina Fine Art Gallery at Stanford Square, 4231 Harding Pike.
